Founded in 1946, SP Fonster are based in Edsbyn, 3 hours drive north of Stockholm, in the hills and forests of Central Sweden. Their 60,000 square metre factory is the largest window and French door manufacturing facility in Northern Europe.
All of the windows are made from timber from sustainable sources and SP Fonster only use the heartwood in the first 2.4m of the trunk to get the densest timber. Each piece is cut, routed and then vac-vac treated before painting, only then are the components assembled.
Every window is individually made to your own requirements, and with an increment size of 5mm there are few situations that cannot be resolved. All of the window and French doors are delivered pre-finished and can be painted to any colour in the RAL range. A variety of stains are also available.
The windows are factory glazed with the option of double or triple glazing; a Low E coating and a fill of argon gas being standard specification. There are also wide choices of obscure glazing and special solutions are available to cover acoustic reduction of up to 45dbRW + ctr.
All of the products are fully tested in Sweden to the SITAC standards and comply with BS 7950 Secure by Design accreditation.
Swedish Timber Products have recently completed various schemes across the UK for Social Housing, Private Housing, Schools and Nursing Homes on a Supply and Fit basis using our own factory trained fitters. We work as a partner and are fully conversant with PPC 2000 and other agreements and our products carry a comprehensive Warranty package.
We also have available a set of external doors to a similar exacting specification and internal doors which include FD20, 30 and 60 and acoustic doors for lift motor rooms and hotel bedrooms.
